NEWS FROM THE DUCKS CLASS:  Welcome to May!  Can you believe we're nearing the end of the school year!  Our little ducklings are growing up so fast.

We had a busy April and thankfully we were able to get outside often and enjoy this beautiful weather we've been blessed with.  As we glance back here are a few memories from the 'duck pond'......

* Wearing some of our favorite colors and having snack match our color of the day.  We liked orange day the best because we got to have orange Jell-O!

*We learned about our 5 senses by making a Look Book, playing 'What's This Sound', reaching into our 'Feel Box', trying our 'Sample Smells' (curry was not one of our favorites but vanilla was), and taste testing everything from sour to sweet.

*During shape week we made a shape book to take home.  Hopefully you've had some time to enjoy this book with your child.  We also took many walks around both inside and out and noticed that there are shapes all around us.

*Then lastly we celebrated our Ducks during week of the Young Child.  We had ice cream sandwiches, strawberry shortcake, made pinwheels and created Special Me buttons.  We also loved Sara Waters and all her 'friends' who came to share stories on how we can take care of our bodies by eating the right foods and exercising.  We also made Jinny and Josie, our burro friends, a special snack.

*We spent much time outside playing on both the Upper and Lower Maka and in the Red House.  We also met the family of Querks in the log cabin, played on the cars, fed the animals, and ran up and down the llama hill which is always a lot of fun.  We love Spring!

As we look ahead, here's what we see...

*A week playing with bubbles
*Bees and Butterflies
*Flowers
*Circus

As always if you have any questions please give us a call at school and we'll return your call as soon as we can or you can catch one of us in the morning when you drop your child off.

Thank you,

Deidi and Nicole
