NEWS FROM THE BURROS CLASS:  April:  Throughout the month of April, the Burros have been learning about how we can all be good stewards of our earth. One way we can do that is by recycling. The Burros brought in bags full of unwanted materials that we reused and turned into artwork. They worked hard to sort the objects into groups such as metals, wood, cardboard, plastic, rubber paper and more. We enjoyed watching video clips from recycling centers.

The next week we talked all about bodies. We enjoyed learning about the layers of our bodies: organs, bones, muscles and skin. We also learned ways to keep our bodies happy and healthy. We had fun making our own body books and posters.

During Earth Week we explored the world around us. We read many books about the earth and about things we can do to make the earth a safe place. We made coffee filter earths, did earth easel paintings, and made a kite that flies in the breeze. The children especially enjoyed going on a clean-up walk. The Burros had a great time cleaning up our earth!

We ended the month of April with a celebration of our children. During Week of the Young Child, we listened to a storyteller, brought stuffed animals to school and walked to a nearby park. We also watched The Red Balloon for a morning movie and enjoyed an ice cream sundae party in addition to a picnic lunch. Thank you so much for all the wonderful “This Is Me” books. We appreciate the time you spent on them.

A big Thank You to all our visitors this month. We especially want to thank…
